We specialize in offering a variety of Mexican groceries, fresh produce, delightful bakery items, and a diverse selection of firearms and jewelry. Our extensive meat department is sure to delight meat lovers, while our LP tank fill and exchange service adds to the convenience. Our Story
We’re El Rey Market, Bakery & Guns, and we’re the leading convenience and grocery store and carnicería that has been serving Perry and surrounding areas since 2010. Our owners, Antonio Sanchez and his brother, bought the business from a family friend and took the reins while navigating the trials and tribulations of being new business owners. Things have only blossomed since then, with something new being learned every day. We were fortunate enough to move to a larger building in 2017, which has expanded the amount and variety of items we’re able to offer. We offer a little bit of everything in our store, and we believe that diversity is what makes us so great.
We’re the premier market for fresh produce, snacks, and authentic Mexican dishes and ingredients. You can find anything from typical grocery products such as fruit and chips to packaged chorizo and tamales. We offer fresh cuts of meat daily from our carnicería, and even have a kitchen and dining seating available if you want a fast and tasty lunch while you shop. On top of that, we also offer fresh baked goods from our bakery that are sure to fix your sweet tooth craving. We’re also a licensed firearms dealer through ATF, and carry a wide selection of handguns and more for you to choose from. We really believe we’re a one-of-a-kind business that has so much to offer our community.
We take great pride in providing only the highest level of customer service for our customers. If we don’t have a certain item you are looking for, we will try and find it for you. At the end of the day, we are all about making sure you’re satisfied with your shopping experience. We’re fortunate enough to have built good relationships with a lot of our local customers, and are always looking to build and grow with the members of our community. We’re open seven days a week to allow our customers to stop in and shop around their busy schedule.
We are one of the top five largest Mexican stores in the whole state of Iowa, and we’re very proud to carry on our tradition and be able to offer such a variety of products for our community. We also carry a selection of jewelry and offer LP tank refills, so we’re guaranteed to have everything you need all under one roof.

I love this place!! Variety of foods that arent anywhere around perry and the Honey selection is my favorite. Also the chips they have are not in normal retail stores. Definitely check it out!!!
